.....TRicK oR TreAT.....

The month of October was full of fun events ranging from picking out pumkins at the Pumkin Patch to painting them at Cyrie's painting party....from Haunted Houses to Trick or Treating. It was fun watching the kids pick out their own pumkins to paint. Kenya was bound and determined to find the smallest pumkin she could and by small she meant small enough to fit in the palm of her hand. After looking high and low and to the point of almost giving up she finally found it....YEAH!!! Keegan had a cute medium sized own picked out until he saw Kenya's little one and then he too had to have a little one. Not really ideal for painting so we still had to go to WalMart and buy bigger ones. Oh well, they had fun.

We went to 2 Haunted Houses this year. Keegan was really scared at the first one and didn't want to go. He finally got a little brave but wouldn't let go of my hand. Kenya warmed up right away and ventured off on her own, touching everything she could. By the second Haunted House Kenya took off ahead of everyone and breezed right through to get her beloved candy. Keegan was right on her heels so he had no choice but to be brave, although a little hesitant. Turns out, their 6 year old cousin, Gavin, was the most scared and had to be nudged the whole way through.

This was Brooklyn's 1st year Trick or Treating. She was NOT too impressed. She loved the candy but after 1 block she was ready to get out of the wagon and walk..........the total wrong direction. We started out at 6pm and by 7pm we were wrapping up, Then it was time to eat a little candy, take a bath and off to bed. All in all a good time.

Heber City Vacation

This year for our family vacation we spent a week at a cabin in Timber Lakes, East of Heber City. We all had a lot of fun. The kids especially loved the pool table and the hot tub.
We spent one day at Olympic Park. We had a lot of fun going down the 2 Ziplines but that was mostly for the adults. The kids loved the Alpine Slide. Keegan and Kenya were able to ride with Conrad and I. They enjoyed controlling how fast we went. Kenya called it a train slide. Then, of course, the girls had to throw in a little shopping at the outlet mall.
There was a lot of 4-wheeling too. We were able to ride around on trails by the cabin. The best time to ride was right before the sun went down, the be-witching hour. We were able to see tons of deer, a few badgers, a cougar/mountain lion?, and 2 moose. Of course we never had our camera with us. Twice we rode around the Uintah Mountains on an all day ride. It was a lot of fun and very beautiful.
We took the kids on the Heber Creeper on a 3 hour ride through Provo Canyon. They were so excited...........until the train robbery, then they were all a bit nervous and scared. My sister-in-law Emma and her 3 girls were at the snack car at the time so Emma played up the robbery by having her girls hide behind a door. Then when one of the robbers came up behind them she told them to run. They all took off back to their seats screaming. Her 2 youngest girls were so scared they were crying. The youngest girl, Ashlyn, even said, with tears running down her cheeks "This is a dumb train!" The rest of us had a good time at their expense and shared a lot of laughs.

1 YeAr BirThDAy!!

It's kind of sad how fast 1 year can go by. When I was younger it took sooooooo long and now....it's gone in a blink of an eye! Brooklyn turned 1 on July 6th. She now weighs 20 lbs. (46%) and is 29 in. tall (64%).
1. She LOVES to chase after Keegan & Kenya and play hide & seek
2. She never sits still. Always going a mile a minute
3. She eats everything in site...but only if she can feed herself
4. She hates getting her hair done
5. She loves to sleep. Usually 12 hours a night........and a nap or two during the day
6. Her favorite things are her baby doll (which Keegan & Kenya gave her), sippie cups, soft blankets, her glow worm, and all of Kenya's stuffed animals
7. Her favorite place to be is OUTSIDE. She takes off running as soon as the door opens
8. She loves giving her mom hugs and kisses
9. She talks up a storm, although her only actual word is dadda
10.She wears a lot of Kenya's clothes.......and they fit

...Finding joy in the simple things...

Brooklyn "found" her belly button about a week ago. Now she is constantly pulling her shirt up and poking at it. It's the funniest thing!!!!

...All dressed up...

My little brother, Kevin, got married last weekend. I decided to make my girls dresses. They turned out pretty good but don't ask Kenya.............She threw a fit everytime she had to try hers on and by the time she actually wore it to the wedding she was crying, saying, "I don't want to wear my Princess dress". I got them to wear the dresses one more time to church the next week but now I think we will have to retire them to the Halloween costumes......although Brooklyn's dress would make a really cute skirt for Kenya if I cut the straps off.......Hmmmm......

...Easter Madness...

We were able to hang out with both families for Easter this year. First we went over to Aunt Tonya's for an Easter Egg Hunt. The kids had so much fun and got WAY too much candy. Kenya actually looked for Eggs without having to be attached to my legs this year.
Then for the actual Easter Weekend we had a lot of fun with my family. First, on Saturday, the boys all went 4-wheeling. It was a little cold and they got wet crossing the river a few times but all had a lot of fun. Then on Sunday the kids colored Easter Eggs and went on another Easter Egg Hunt.
