PRESIDENT INAUGURATION

Today was history in the making. It was the Inauguration of our 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, the first African American President. Time for a fresh start. Hopefully there will be some good changes for our country.

My sister Renae had her baby on January 4, 2009. Easton Roy Mitchell. He weighed 8 lbs. 6 ounces. He is sooooo cute and chubby. I was working that night so she let me be there for the delivery.
We took the twins to see their new cousin 2 days later. Keegan loved his new cousin so much that when I tried to take him back, Keegan locked his fingers together and wouldn't let him go.
......But I think Kenya loves babies more, almost as much as I do. Everytime I asked her if it was mommies turn, she would shake her head and say NO!! One time Easton started crying. Kenya patted his cheek and said, "Its ok, baby". I finally took him and put him on my shoulder while patting his back. Kenya started patting her shoulder as if to say, "I can do that. Give him back". I think both Keegan and Kenya will love having a baby brother or sister and will be such BIG HELPERS.

I made these T-shirts for the twins to announce that we are going to have another baby, "BIG BROTHER" for Keegan and "BIG SISTER" for Kenya. We had them first wear them to Conrad's family Christmas Party. It took about half an hour but finally Loralee figured it out and our secret was out. Next we had them wear them on Christmas Day for my family. I thought my family would figure it out right away but no one ever said anything. We let all the excitement of opening presents die down but still no mention of the T-shirts. Finally Conrad had to tell my mom and dad that we had gotten them another present.....a riddle. Check out my mom's reaction in the following video:
We rode the Frontliner to Salt Lake to BodyWorld and Temple Square. Keegan and Kenya absolutely loved the train. They spent the rest of the weekend saying, "Choo, Choo". "Choo, Choo".

We went to Ogden to see family the weekend before Christmas. We wanted to get a family picture in the snow. This is the best we could do. It was an hour before sundown, Kenya was VERY grumpy and Aunt Darley is taking it with her camera cuz the batteries were dead in ours. We only had time to take a few pictures before Kenya was freezing and wanted to go. I wanted to get some pictures of Keegan and Kenya together since they just turned 2 but that will have to wait..... I'm sure Kenya will let us know when she will have her camera face on.

While up at Grandma Verlene's before Christmas we took the kids sledding. After looking around the yard awhile, we finally found a sled........if you can call it that. It had defiantely seen better days. Grandpa Clair became the favorite with the Grandkids when he started pulling them around the yard with the 4-wheeler.

Keegan and Riggun liked sledding the most. Everytime Grandpa would make a loop around the yard they would both jump off and immediately jump back on saying, "again, again" and "ride, ride". They even went on a ride by themselves. Kenya loved it too but would only ride if I went with her.

After we were through we wanted to get a picture of the cousins in their snowsuits. Keegan was pretty upset cuz he still wanted to "ride, ride".

Conrad decided to try out skiing. He made it one full loop around the yard.....

before he crashed. Sorry hon, you're not as young as you used to be. You'll be feeling that tomorrow.

This is what's left of our redneck sled. Needless to say, it went straight to the trash.
