I decided to try out my old 4-H skills. The carseat canopy turned out pretty cute but don't look too closely, I'm defiantely no seamstress.

Last night Kenya gave her dad a scare when she started seizing. Conrad handled it pretty well considering. He turned Kenya on her side then called 911 since I was at work and had the car seats. Keegan proved to be very helpful. When Conrad told him the Ambulance was coming, he turned on all the lights, inside and out, and opened the front door. Then he hovered over Kenya as a protective older brother. When the Ambulance got to our house he even put on his fireman's hat. What a little sweet heart. Kimberly got home just as the Ambulance was getting ready to leave so she was able to watch Keegan. When Kimberly tucked Keegan in bed he threw both his blankets off and said they were Kenya's. He didn't want to go to sleep without her. Kenya was a little nervous having the doctor check her out but handled it pretty well. It turned out to be a febrile seizure, luckily. After waiting for over an hour for Kenya to pee, we finally were able to go home. $5,000 later Kenya is back to her cute little self.
Since the whole family was together over the weekend, Kimberly's boyfriend decided this would be a good time to..............take Kim behind the wood pile and propose surrounded by cows. How romantic. She is very excited and they are thinking about getting married in August, maybe 2 weeks after Amanda gets married.
This is the before picture. The house was painted white with green trim over 20 years ago. It was in dire need of a make-over. All the kids decided to get together and redo the house for Mother's Day/Father's Day.
First Conrad power-washed the whole house and we taped off all the windows and covered the bushes. That took most of the morning.
Mike and Kevin were able to borrow a scissor lift to reach the high places. We started painting Saturday by about noon and finished that evening with the tan color. The whole time it threatened to rain. We did get a few sprinkles but managed to stave off the storm.
Since the house had not been painted for a long time we had to prime everywhere the paint was chipping off. In the end it looks a lot better but could still use another coat.
Sunday we painted all the trim black and started sanding down the deck. This proved to take longer than planned. We ended up finishing the sanding on Monday and left Mike and Kevin to stain it after it dried from the rain storm we received that day. I think we've all decided that next year we will just buy them a gift:)
Anywhere there is water, there will be Keegan. He LOVES to be dirty and wet.
